Open & Respectful Communication: We will establish new channels for direct, respectful, and transparent dialogue, including bi-weekly live streams and enhanced social media engagement, ensuring residents are informed and have their voices heard.
Celebrating Our Successes: We will actively promote and showcase the incredible initiatives, organizations, and individuals that are making St. Joseph a better place, shifting the narrative to one of pride and progress. We need to show people why they should live here.
Strengthening Community Bonds: The city will have a much more active role with vital organizations like the Community Alliance in order to foster initiatives like Imagine St. Joseph 2040. Support and communication with the Chamber of Commerce, Convention and Visitors Bureau, Downtown Association, etc is crucial to forward progress.
St. Joseph's greatest asset is its people—our shared spirit of kindness, creativity, and resilience. Far too often, the amazing things happening in our city go unnoticed, drowned out by negative narratives.
As Mayor, I will champion positivity, foster stronger connections, and ensure that our city government is a true partner in building a vibrant, inclusive community where families feel they belong and want to stay.
Open Communication with the citizens on current efforts. e.g. Bi-weekly "Live" Q&A sessions
Modernize City Hall. Update outdated systems with new software. Focus on the current citizen portal and make it user friendly, and streamlined.
Support Other Positions. We need to work WITH the current hired city manager, planner, and other hired positions as opposed to hindering their efforts.
Our local government's primary role is to provide essential services efficiently and responsibly. Properly funding the police, the fire department, road repairs, and other operational services is the first job and should be a foundational focus.
As Mayor, I will bring a business-minded approach to City Hall, focusing on operational excellence and leveraging technology to serve you better. We don't need more government; we need smarter, more effective government.
Supporting Local Small Business: We will actively champion programs and resources designed to help St. Joseph's local small businesses start, grow, and prosper.
Cutting Red Tape: We will streamline city processes and regulations, making it simpler and faster for businesses to operate and contribute to our city's prosperity. Less bureaucracy means more commerce.
Fostering Innovation & Strategic Investment: We will cultivate an environment where entrepreneurial ideas flourish, attracting new ventures and supporting existing ones to expand, leading to quality jobs and increased wealth per capita for all St. Joseph families.
In the past St. Joseph has been recognized as a prime location for entrepreneurs and small businesses, once proudly ranking among the top cities in the nation. It's time to reclaim and even surpass that distinction.
I understand that businesses are the backbone of our community—they create jobs, generate wealth, and many other things. Local business helps enrich all of our lives and as a small business owner myself, I know firsthand the challenges and opportunities our local enterprises face. I hope to use that experience for the benefit of all.
